The fusion of Generative AI and Extended Reality (XR) is opening an entirely new dimension for human expression. While AI acts as the engine of imagination, XR serves as the infinite canvas where these ideas come to life in 3D space. Beyond creating simple support tools, we explore how this convergence fundamentally transforms human thinking and creative processes. We investigate the cognitive expansion that occurs when ideating in immersive environments, defining a new paradigm where humans and technology collaborate to reach levels of imagination previously unattainable by cognition alone.

생성형 AI와 확장현실(XR)의 결합은 인간의 표현력을 완전히 새로운 차원으로 이끌고 있습니다. AI가 상상력의 엔진이라면, XR은 그 상상이 3차원 공간에서 생생하게 살아 움직이게 하는 무한한 캔버스입니다. CXD Lab은 생성형 AI와 XR의 융합이 단순한 도구를 넘어 인간의 사고방식(Thinking Process)과 창의적 프로세스를 어떻게 근본적으로 혁신하고 인지적 한계를 확장시키는지 탐구합니다.

Digital humans are not merely conversational AI; they are visual entities capable of intelligently performing diverse roles in place of a physical body. We envision a future where these intelligent beings not only coexist and communicate with us in our daily physical reality but also autonomously execute complex new roles within virtual environments. Our research goes beyond visual fidelity to explore innovative service models where digital humans act as versatile agents. We aim to propose novel interaction paradigms for intelligent digital humans, defining how humans can meaningfully collaborate with these embodied intelligences in both physical and virtual worlds.

CXD Lab은 디지털 휴먼을 단순한 대화 상대를 넘어, 물리적 신체를 대신해 복합적인 역할을 지능적으로 수행하며 현실과 가상에서 인간과 공존하는 새로운 사회적 실체로 정의합니다. 우리는 이들이 현실의 일상 공간에서 인간과 공존하며 소통하는 미래뿐만 아니라, 무한한 가상 환경 속에서도 스스로 판단하고 행동하며 새로운 사회적 가치를 창출하는 것에 주목합니다. 본 연구는 단순한 외형 구현을 넘어, 디지털 휴먼이 인간을 돕거나 대체하여 제공할 수 있는 혁신적인 서비스 모델을 발굴하고, 이에 최적화된 지능형 디지털 휴먼과의 새로운 인터랙션 (Interaction) 방식을 제안합니다.

The core mission is to construct ‘Phygital experiences’ where digital content seamlessly blends into our physical daily lives, dissolving the boundary between the real and the virtual. We explore how user experiences should be architected when XR content converges with AI intelligence. Beyond mere technical implementation, our goal is to propose diverse service models and next-generation UX that provide tangible benefits and practical aid to human life. This research positions itself at the forefront of defining the future standard of living in a mixed-reality era.
