Describe a cultural context and turn observations into a focused design opportunity.
Learning to read culture through design
Culture shapes what people value, how they interpret experiences, and why particular products, services, and places matter. In this course, students learn to read those cultural contexts and translate research findings into coherent design-management proposals. Lectures build a shared vocabulary; workshops and critiques put it into practice.
Plan and conduct field research using appropriate qualitative methods.
Identify patterns, tensions, and stakeholder needs across research materials.
Develop a culturally grounded design-management strategy and communicate it clearly.
